Please explain to me how you can be a christian & OK, with war. Ithought Jesus was about loving thy neighbor. I thought there was a commandment "though shall not kill". How can a person be a christian & for war? If you are againt war/killing please tell me what you religion or non-religion & why you don't believe in killing as a soul-u-tion. I am not any specific religion & I follow my intutition & believe it is so wrong. Please give me a clear view into why you believe what you do.

  1. since you are not a christian, do me a favor, read the new testament and see how a christian should behave  , that way you won't be calling anyone a christian. and maybe , just maybe you will find the answer to your question.

  2. It's the same thing as how can you be Christian and judge Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Pagans and more even though Jesus said to love thy neighbor.

I'm a Wiccan and I see this everyday too. I guess everyone has their own personal opinions, but war and execution IS manslaughter and murder which in their bible is a SIN. I don't get it either. You're not alone.

But according to them (ahem, the united states government, I mean), if you're killing an Iraqui, whether they're innocent or not, whether they're a child or an adult, it's OKAY because they're Iraquis. Sick, sick, sick.

  3. I am a Christian and I am NOT ok with war... I was, and still am, disheartened that Canada joined forces with the States in the War on Iraq.  So many senseless deaths over Pres. George W. Bush's lies.

The Bible can be difficult to read... when I became a Christian a few years ago, I bought a Life Applications Study Bible and some study books to help me to understand it more.  I'm still learning, but loving it.

  4. There is the Just war, where you have the right to defend your country, and also where you have the duty to protect those who can not protect themselves.  Other than that, there is no reason to engage in war.

  5. Christiansmay be divided about war, but the Bible is not. Though shalt not kill in Exodus 20 is further explained in the subsequent few chapters as thou shalt not murder, as in 1st degree premeditated. It also gives lesser punishments for self-defense, and God certainly lead the Israelites into battle quite often.

Other cultures are not Christian at all, and may provoke us into battles and wars. The current war in the Middle East is a perfect example. Radical Islam has threatened Israel's existence, and that of the U.S.

Now we find ourselves loving our neighbor enough to help them defend themselves, and ourselves.

  6. Most 'Christians' accept neither Scripture, nor the Savior of Scripture YAHOSHUA, so It is hard to be consistent.

  7. i dont believe in wars as a solution. in some cases war was necessary in protecting our country i just wish we lived in a world where everyone lived in harmony. but thats just wishful thinking!
