  1. i think i read that those lucky coasties get to use a .40 cal SIG, or maybe its an HK but either way the 40 is a million times better than the 9mm...they gave that weapon to the wrong service...i believe its because they are not a part of the military except in wartime so they dont have to abide by NATO ammunition regs.


  2. they can be it depends on where your stationed... vbss teams sometimes take reservists for training so you could have a m16 lol

  3. It depends on where he's stationed and his job.  At the end of the patrol or whatever, the coastie must return his gun and other stuff to the armory.  

  4. The real reason the Coast Guard is issued the SIG 40 is because Department of Homeland Security said so. Customs immigration border patrol ect have all gone to it and for the first time the CG is not going with the military weapon.
