  1. cold constricts blood

heat allows for more flow.  you want blood to flow over a ill health area.

anyways your best bet is some Oil of Oregano and Olive Leaf Extract tinture.  Gargle and take (seperate doses) internally.

  2. pl check these remedies

  3. Actually, tea with honey is one of the best things for a sore throat

  4. Definitely your family is correct. Warm and hot items tend to open up your passageways. Cold things tighten and constrict. Milk and ice cream products are the worse as they give you phlegm and can cause you to cough more, as they are cold and heavy and not good fluids to be drinking when you do not feel well.

    Here are the best remedies.

First it depends on how sore your throat is...

Add Honey & Lemon to just boiled water. Drink it every few hours.

Apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water & gargle with it spit it out then swallow a mouthful and then gargle again and so on until the glass is empty. Do this for up to 3-4 hours and it will be gone.

Then the classic garlic with warm salt water repeatedly maybe the garlic will be different then just the salt in the water as too much salts makes me feel the same way but I don't have a problem with the garlic in it as it takes away from the over salt taste.

Fresh pineapple and grapefruits have been known to cure it or the juices from the fruit.

Horehound tea is not the most popular but is very effective although the taste is something.

I hate olives so I have not tried this one. However they say if you take the pit out and suck on the meat of an olive until you finally chew it then swallow it and do this as though it was a cough drop it is helpful.

There is also a tea out on the market completely natural that is for immune boost. You can buy it at the grocery store and it is in with the regular tea bag products. That stuff is made of natural herbs and I swear I was only sick two days when drinking it. Best stuff someone invented. I buy it all the time to help keep me going especially when I down with a low immune system because everyone around me is sick.

Chamomile tea is also a throat soother product.

Good luck and hope it is not the flu.

  5. Try it.  Take a sip of chicken noodle soup or hot cocoa or warm tea.  Warm things are more soothing to your throat and make you feel better.

You will find the warm stuff is more soothing, and it helps relieve your symptoms more than cold stuff like popsicles, ice tea, or anything cold.

  6. It's been so long since I've had a cold or sore throat, I had to think a bit.

It seems my best use was a very warm salt water gargle then slowly swallowing very warm lemon juice and honey.

All the others above are also helpful, however.

  7. Warm is better. Try hot tea with honey.

  8. Tea with honey is good--as is gargling with warm salted water.
