Question:

Are college going broke all over the U.S?

I'm really seeing America going through money diffcultys we all see gas is rising and everything is. I'm also hearing that college are starting to go broke! I'm in a community college and I'm thinking of finishing as fast I can because pretty soon there not going to fincial aid left!

  2. It is the state schools that are having financial difficulty. With housing prices down, property taxes are lower in all states. There is a recession.

    Private colleges on the other hand have larger endowments than ever and the wealthy ones are giving more financial aid than ever. If you are a good studnt with financial need, you will often get a much better deal at a private college.

It's highly unlikely that major colleges and universities across the US will be going out of business anytime soon.  This especially true if they are state institutions (i.e. receive appropriations through the state government).  While some local for-profit proprietary schools may have to shut down depending on their clientele, I also find it unlikely that the large national schools will be shutting down entirely (although they may decide to close a school depending on its output).  This is something I wouldn't lose sleep over....
