  1. Yes they are...my church actually uses wafers that are celiac, peanut-allergy and vegan friendly.

  2. Actually yes they are.  I am sure the Deaconess in your church can tell you exactly how they are made.

I am sure you may find the knowledge nice to know.

  3. They should just be wheat flour and water.  So yes.

But if you are a true believer than it wouldn't matter if it were Vegan since the wafers are consecrated.

Your faith should override any lifestyle choice you have, otherwise you are not in the right religion.

  4. I know that they are where I attend - it's just flour and water that is baked.

If in doubt - ask.  That really is the ONLY way that your going to know for SURE about where you attend.

Not all communion bread is made in the same way.  I even visited a congregation once that used regular bread - which I found totally STRANGE since leavening is always represents 'sin' within scripture - the use of it to remind someone of the sinless body of Jesus seemed - - - - strange to say the least.

    So, just ask.

  5. Qbert-  I don't agree that your faith should override your lifestyle choice.  I think they are one in the same and go hand in hand...

Good question.  I think it would totally acceptable to ask a clergyman if they have any animal ingredients.  The only way to be sure is if you ask.

I don't think it sounds silly.  I think it is a great question.  I am so tired of people asking the same questions on here.  This is the first time I saw this one.

Good luck and remember that as a vegan you have a right and responsibility to know, so don't feel bad or nervous about asking.  Take care.
