  1. Hi,

Your question is not complete...efficient for what?

To use as a tooth paste?  To wash your car with?

Composts are efficient in decomposing organic material for reuse as a fertilizer.

    Does that answer you question?

  2. Absolutely they are. With a wide range of how people make compost and materials used, I'd say grass clippings from mowing the lawn is the most readily available and useful. When fall comes and plants are going dormant simply rototiller in the compost and again a few weeks prior to planting for a healthy hardy garden-flower bed.

You're putting in new neutrients and soil which is always a bonus in money savings.
