YES. I think that children should learn to use the computer as soon as possible. Everyone is using computers now. My daughter is in Pre-K and they have a computer in their classroom. What does that tell you???

Name a job for which computers aren't required.  Of course we should teach computer skills to children.  And, as long as it is filtered, the internet is a very useful resource for kids.

Yes! The world is becoming more and more high tech. So many things can be done more efficiently and quicker via the Internet with a lot less resources such as paper for billing and checks etc... think of the trees that will be saved. On-line bill paying is becoming the thing to do and with postage becoming expensive you can save a lot. It's going to be a must to have computers and Internet sometime in the future for so many things, the list will of possibilities is endless. Information and research is so abundant you can't help but use the Internet for quick and easy answers. So yes the earlier children learn computers the easier their learning and adult lives will be.

It is imperative to learn computer skills in today's world, but skills only. c**p like computer games have turned some of my nephews into computer zombies. They have zero physical skills let alone what they are lacking in social skills. I went hunting with one a couple of months ago and this 14 year old  kid tired out way before me and brother (we are 43 and 45). how pathetic is that.

My daughter has profound Cerebral Palsy.  Computers ARE her future!

She is lucky to have been born in the age of advanced technology!
