Are concrete roofs better than metal roofs for a single family homes?

  1. I haven't heard of a concrete roof, unless they are like tiles or something. The building must be able to handle the extra weight, very heavy. Roof would probably need to be renforced.  Metal roofs are must lighter in weight than  regular shingles. If this is a new home and you are thinking about concreteit will add considerable cost .Good luck


  2. It's been my experience that concrete tile roofs are more prone to leakage, although I'm sure there are many tile roofers who would prove me wrong.

    Now, is this single family home in an earthquake prone area?

    What would you want over your head, 3,000 lbs of sheetmetal, or 30,000 lbs of concrete?

    I've never understood Californians.
