Question:

Are conifers flowering plants?

my textbook says they are - i think its because they have pines or something...and they do reproduce...?

  1. Algae are a different family of plants, with rather simple structures,  ranging from single cells to giant seaweed.

    The word is sometimes also used, as in "blue-green algae", for cyanobacteria which are a completely separate group.

  3. No conifers are not the same as flowering plants.... and I am at a loss why any textbook would say that.

    Flowering plants belong to the angiosperm division.  Conifers are gymnosperms.  These groups are hugely different and certainly not synonymous.

    Algae is a group to itself.
