I heard that contact lenses destroy your eyes more than it helps. Is this true?

  1. This is totally untrue. The only way that contacts would be unsafe if people do not care for them correctly. If people are careless and do not clean them or wash their hands before use, this can cause eye infections, etc.

I am under 14, and use contacts safely. Contacts are very helpful if people are mature enough to use them.

    Hope I helped!!!

  2. I don't think so i wear them they are comfy and they work just as good as glasses

  3. idk, but i like them ALOT better then glasses and I am 13 so right now i dont really care. Whenever they start causing problems. that's when I will care

  4. ..NO!! i wear contacts n like em lot better den glasses

  5. That is not true!  I have to say they help you eyes and you can see better than with glasses.  They just might not be good for anyone younger than a teenager.  I say this because you have to take care of them.  Whether it is the type you put in daily or the weekly.  You have to clean them and disinfect them.  You don't just put them in your eyes and forget them.  It takes a little smarts.

  6. NO definetly not they have been around forever and now that they have done so many things for then they are super safe and they don't destroy your eyes at all thye woulden't make them if they did

  7. No, I have been wearing contacts for 19 yrs now.  But the younger the person wearing them, the more they still have to grow, including the shapes of their eyes, so contacts may be outgrown, just like shoes, so the money can be wasted more easily.

  8. Contact lenses do not hurt or destroy your eyes unless you don't clean them properly or wear them at appropriate times. Toss them out every time they expire.

The contact lenses that do ruin your eyes are the playing ones with no prescription power. Always have a rx.

  9. No, of course that isn't true.

Millions have been wearing them for years and years with no problems.

Problems can arise from misuse, over wearing, lack of proper hygene...but that isn't the fault of the contacts...it's the users fault.

  10. Nope.

well they kinda prevent it from hydrating because your eyes were made to hydrate by blinking but contacts kind of stops that.

But they dont destroy your eyes.

Just clean them with solution ever night and dont wear them to sleep.

  11. Contact lenses are dangerous for children and irresponsible teens.  Leaving them in overnight and rubbing your eye can and will cause them to literally scratch your eye (and your eye will never repair; it will hurt forever).  They can make your vision worst due to the abnormal touching of the eye 2+ times a day and the cleanliness of the lense.  There are some chemically altered contacts out there that work with your eye to correct your vision a smidgen at a time though.

  12. I am a teen & have had contacts for awhile & they are safe.  The only thing I warn you is to make sure that the person doesn't sleep in them since that can harm your eyes. If they are irritating have tear drops so they can put them on their eyes if they get dry.

  13. idk! i dont think soo cuz my oldest wears them and when she takes them out her vision is better from when she put them in
