  1. nope. there is a great website called www.discountcontactlenses.com. They have contacts for much lower then you can get them at an optical retailer. Good Luck! Hope this helps!

  2. The truth is that it all depends on your prescription and type of contact lenses you would require. For example, if you have astigmatism they are going to be more expensive, or if you need a multifocal lens they'll be even MORE costly. If your prescription is spherical (normal) then they are very reasonable, and even sometimes cheaper than glasses. Also, in order to find out what type of lenses you would need, and to get a prescription to order those lenses, you would need a Contact Lens Fitting/Evaluation that usually isn't covered by insurance. Those usually run around $60 to $90 depending on your vision. This has to be done yearly because Contact Lens prescriptions expire after a year.

So, first, you'd have to pay for the fitting, then you'd have to see what type of lens you would require. Only then will you know how much it will cost you per year. I wish I could give you a brand and a price and it was "that easy". However, there's no way for a new contact lens wearer to know what it will cost them until they've been fitted and they find a lens that works for them.

  3. Not at all. In fact, the LASIK boom has forced contact lens manufacturers to price their product more competitively.

You can get a year's supply of Acuvue 2 for about $100 to $140 in the USA, plus about $75 to $100 for the exam.

But here, if you're under 18 you have to have your parents' permission in most states, or at least put down a birthdate on the form you fill out at the optician that says you're 18 (they won't check ID unless you're obviously a kid).

  4. Contacts usually cost about twenty dollars for a six week supply if you are wearing disposable lenses and depending if you have the same prescription for both eyes.

  5. No they arent. They usually cost about 10 pounds and about 20 dollars. I always wear them for school and they completely change your whole look. I have bought loads and loads.

  6. nope if you go on www.1800contacts.com you can get anykind of contacts for the cheapest price.  just make sure you have the right prescription.

  7. Now that they are no longer the "rage" due to Lasik becoming the rage among the myopic, they shouldn't be too expensive.  Go for the soft ones if you want the more comfortable lenses.  My eyes never wore the glass ones, and the soft ones were pretty good.  Five years ago saw me getting my eyes fixed, and the surgery STILL worked!  My eyes are great!
