Question:

Are continuous wear contact lenses good or bad?

I have started using 'Optix day and night' continuous wear lenses (put them in and take them out a month later, no cleaning)

Has anyone got any good or bad reports or tips for these kind of lenses?

  1. I used to wear those but I found out that I really didn't sleep as well at night with them in - I know, makes no sense but it's true!  I think everybody is different.  Sleeping was my only problem with them.  They sure are convenient!  I think as long as you use eye wetting drops when you feel your eyes getting a little dry and follow the instructions your eye doctor gave you, you'll love them.

  2. Day and night continuous wear lenses have used a different technology to facilitate it's use for about 30 days at a stretch without damaging the eyes.It causes irritation and discomfort in people with dry eye. It's like sleeping with the shoes on.In my opinion if on a particulate day you are feeling too tired or lazy or you come back home late or you have to wake up early and leave early the next morning, one can sleep with the lenses on.Otherwise for the general health of eyes these should be removed before sleeping.

  3. IT IS BAD TO WEAR LENSES COUNTINUOUSLY

THIS SHOW EFFECT AFTER MANY YEARS

  4. it is not only a defect it has been  made in a specific manner that it can be harmful at times

  5. I've been using the monthly disposable ones for about five years now and I've never experienced any problems...not sure about continuous wear though! I've heard stories about them, sometimes they get a bit dry overnight or whatever but I think they're fine :) x

  6. For some person it is good but sometimes make pain  of eyes because it can dry in night. Better to change more often or use that kind lenses to clean

  7. Just because they are manufactured and adversited as good for day and night continuous wear lenses, personally, I do not think it's a good idea to keep them in for a month without any cleaning.

I would suspect that these contacts would be a prime cause of eye irritations and infections.

To be safe... I'd use the regular lenses and deal with the daily cleaning of them.

  8. don't believe to any story , just look through your past medical status , u will find that after prolonged use u are unable to see any object clearly , which ones had been to u before the prolonged use. thus it is always instructed to use contact lenses only for short duration, for eye correction , or it may lead to eye problems such as iching and red eyes and quite possible u may incure an eye infection.

  9. Mine are permanent contact lens. I change them once every 2 years. But of course I clean them everytime I put them on and take off.
