Question:

Are convenience stores really profitable?

I'm thinking of buying a particular convenience store. Although it is difficult to say if they are profitable or not. The owner claims that the average daily sales are $500.00 and the profit margin is about 35%, which makes a gross profit of $175 per day. It is hard to tell if I am being deceived. I would appreciate receiving an answer from people who are in the business or used to be in the convenience store business. Thank you in advance.
