  1. Shot placement is what you need.....any broadhead including 2-blades will do the job if you put the arrow where it should be.  Magnus Snuffers are a much better head if you don't mind sharpening them.   When Crimsons first came out they kinda sucked but maybe they've improved them since then....lots of shattered blades.

There are so many heads to choose from and any of them will work great if they're sharp and aimed true.  There's also a lot to be said for smaller heads....oversized heads with big holes on entry don't always work out to a pass-through shot, which is what you really want to have.  A big head can deflect or get caught up in tissue and stop in it's tracks....when you combine a large cutting diameter with thin materials so that you end up with the usually-preferred lightweight broadhead, it only makes the problem worse unless you hit the breadbasket with a good angle.

Probably would get more answers if you put this in the right category instead of Cycling, but there's my 2 cents on the Crimsons with several years of trad archery and tracking behind me.   Good luck this season!

  2. Good for deer... NO...I would think they'd be very bad for deer. It would hurt them badly if they ever got hit with one, don't you think?
