  1. yes very i read somewhere that they are the most poinious spider in the world (to animals not so much to humans) . hope i helped

  2. Technically yes.  They are actually very poisonous, but, they cannot bite humans.  Their mandibles aren't strong or sharp enough to penetrate a humans epidermis.  No need to worry about them.

  3. i heard they were the most poisonous spider but they cant bite humans cuz our skin is too thick

  4. yes they are the most poisonous, but they are to tiny to bite even the smallest child. they kill other small insects, and very quickly. but have no worry, they are harmless to you.

  5. yes! but they can't bite us cause they're fangs are to weak, + they are the most poisonous spider in the world, i saw it on mythbusters lmao

  6. They are neither poisonous nor dangerous to humans.

Technically they are the most poisonous spiders in the world. However, they lack the physical capability of biting into human skin to inject venom.

I kill them any time I see them anyway though xD.

  7. Yes, but they have no way of putting it in you so their safe. But they freak me out alot.

  8. no. their teeth are so small that when they bite you you can't feel it and they can't break your skin so the bite will not affect you in any way.

  9. i dont think you should worry as all daddy long legs are reasobly venemous but lack the teeth and other muscles to bite and iject toxins depending on where you live it could be a hybrid or a different breed

  10. I heard they were the most poisoness spider but since their fangs were so small thye couldn't bite into our skin to do any harm.

  11. no. they are not even spiders, technically (arachnids).

the only two poisonous spiders with marks you are ever likely to find are the black widow( red mark) and the rare brown recluse (black violin)

  12. Actually they are the most poisonous spider from what I have read except they don't have strong enough teeth to get through human skin so although they are poisonous to most of their prey they are pretty much harmless to humans.

  13. Are daddy-long-legs poisonous to humans?

Maybe and No. Depending on weather you are asking about the daddy-long-leg spider or the daddy-long-leg Opiliones (see question above about daddy-long-legs). Opiliones have no fangs or venom glands. They do have defensive secretions produced by a pair of scent glands on the front end of the body but these secretions can not be injected by their mouth parts. Some people may be sensitive to the scent gland secretions but this would affect them through their lungs or through skin contact, not through bites. In very old publications (hundreds of yeas ago), the term Phalangid was used for many different animals, some of which were poisonous to humans. As discussed above, daddy-long-legs spiders are true spiders and have venom and fangs but it is a myth that pholcid spiders have venom that is highly toxic to humans. In other words, unless you develop an allergic reaction to pholcid bites, you should have no worries.

  14. people say that the daddy long legs is the "most poisonous animal", that i'm not sure of, but they are poisonous, however their mouth is so small that it can't harm humans.

Don't know about the colorings and if they make a difference or not.

  15. no

  16. No.

  17. no! They're harmless!

  18. Yes so keep your fingers away from there mouth

  19. i use to work pest control,  i don't think so, but you google spiders and look at the photos and see. i use to smash them with my fingers and never got bit.. may be just lucky

  20. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pholcidae#M...

  21. Daddy long legs are poisonous, but completely harmless. Thier teeth aren't large enough to even pierce your skin. I don't know about the wierd markings but if it's a daddy long leg, there is no need to get freaked out.

  22. I've heard that they are poisonous but they can't bite us as their fangs are just too small.

  23. Yes, Daddy Long Legs are one of the most poisonous spiders, but their venom is harmless to humans! They won't (can't) hurt you. Their venom is so strong to other spiders, though, that it can kill even a Black Widow Spider!!! (I know all that because my dad used to do pest-control! lol) Hope that was helpful! :)

  24. poke them and find out

  25. Myth: The daddy-longlegs has the world's most powerful venom, but fortunately its jaws (fangs) are so small that it can't bite you.

Fact: That is a full-fledged Urban Legend, with no basis in fact whatever. This legend is so widespread that many people believe it who should really know better, including some teachers and TV documentary producers.

Three different unrelated groups are called "daddy-longlegs." Harvestmen have no venom of any kind. None at all! Same with crane flies. Pholcid spiders have venom (like almost all spiders) but there's nothing special about it; in fact, a recent study showed that pholcid venom is unusually weak in its effect on insects.

For true daddy-long-legs, the opilionids (harvestman), the myth is certainly false, and for the daddy-long-legs spiders it is certainly not based on known facts.

In 2004, the Discovery Channel show MythBusters set out to test the daddy long-legs myth (season 1, episode 13 "Buried in Concrete"). After measuring the spider's fangs at approximately 0.25 mm (average human skin thickness varies from about 0.5mm to 4mm), the show's host was apparently bitten, although the bite produced little more than a mild short-lived burning sensation. This appears to confirm the suspicion that pholcids can penetrate human skin, but that their venom is practically harmless to humans. Additionally, recent research by Alan Van d**e has shown that pholcid venom is actually relatively weak in its effects on insects as well.

According to the University of California at Riverside, the daddy long-legs spider has never harmed a human and there is no proof that they are venomous to humans.

In summary, the harvestman (round body, usually outdoors) is not a spider and has no venom.

There are different varieties of the indoor daddy long legs spider (house spider cellar spider), but their venom is weak, they almost never bite a human, and they are not dangerous to humans.

The acual most venomous spider in the world is Australia's funnel web spider.

  26. They are venomous (all spiders are... its not fatal in the case of the daddy long leg though) but they are not poisonous. if somthing is poisonous  that means that it causes you harm to eat them. just an old wives tail.

  27. If it is a daddy long legs, it doesn't even bite.

  28. yea, but not to humans. u can get stung all u want and it wont do zshitz

  29. all of daddy long leggers are but one can not give you enough poison to kill you or do anything to you because they are too small

  30. very,  but their fanvs are too small to bite anything bigger than a fruit fly
