I need to take my car to the Ford Dealer. They charge to check the car out right? Is it regular labor charges? (hourly)

  1. Usually a min. of an hour labor for a diag. So depending where you live that could run 80-140 dollars.

  2. you want free go to autozone and have them scan it they can tel you if anything is wrong  for nothing... sorry you dont go to dealers for anything you cant get done else where....or its cover by warranty... they are highest place and they are the place where young men and ladies learn how to work on cars not so smart sometimes... when most anyother shop could do the same thing for half the price always best to shop a round so make a few phone calls when you have a problem... price they charged is 40 to 80 bucks a hour depending on the work that are doing

  3. If you're talking about a point by point inspection, yes, they usually charge something for that.  Unless you're selling it to them.  If you're going to trade in, they do the inspection for their own info.  If you want it inspected so you can sell it privately, they will probably charge you something, but I can't imagine it's very expensive.

  4. There is nothing free at the dealers unless it's under warranty.

  5. Yes, they charge about one hour to do diagnostic and it is about $100 an hour in our area (NE).  My  husband is a Ford mechanic.
