  1. sell them on e-bay

  2. There is a big market for used denim jeans.

other wise donate them to your local good will/salvation army store.

  3. Absolutely!!

They can be used to make shorts (cut off the legs and hem or not), skirts (open up the inside leg seams and sew fronts to fronts and backs to backs), decorative pillows, etc...

If they are in good condition, you can give them to thrift stores or to churches to be given to those in need.

You can use them as a canvas for an art project, cut them up to wash the floor with, put a pair on the bottom of your pet's travel cage.

You can cut the denim up and sew it back together to make a sunshade for the garden, a vest, a car seat cover, steering wheel cover, etc...

You can cut off the legs and use them to insulate water pipes in your basement.

You can make a scarecrow for the garden.

You can pair the with a shirt and stuff them both for a body for a Halloween decoration (use lots of red dye splattered around and no head - fun, fun, fun!!)

Crikey - I wish I had a pair to recycle right now...

  4. even if they are not in good condition, you can bring them to places like Goodwill. The clothes that are in bad condition are sold as bulk fabric by weight, then used to make things like quilts, insulation, etc.

  5. Yes  I use them to patch the holes in my other jeans and save the zippers to fix the zippers in other jeans

  6. Good Question.

Indeed. You can recycle them yourself, by passing them on to a friend, by giving them to goodwill, by selling them at a consignment shop--by turning them into shorts and using the legs of the jeans for dusting cloths. You could cut them and turn them into purses, or change cases.

The neatest thing that I heard of lately is that recycled denim is actually being used for insulation in homes! Now that is progress.

  7. I Think So.

  8. Yes, depending on the brand and the condition there are several stores that will by them. Look for used clothes in the yellow pages.

go to www.earth911.org type in your zip code and what you want to recycle and you should get a list of centers in your area. Denim is being made into insulation for homes, so there is a demand.
