I could not find a category appropriate to the Q I am asking. Since it is a part of a series of Q's exploring poverty issues, I thought to put it up in the current events category esp since high gas prices are a big reason to save elsewhere in the budget.

  1. Hadley.  This is a big coupon myth.  I am not sure why people think coupons are only for poor people.  They are not food stamps - they are coupons.

Actually, statistics show that 'poor' people or those who make less than $25,000 a year are the least likely people to use coupons.  The people who are most likely to use coupons are middle aged, middle classed people.

  2. I'm not poor but I use coupons. I love getting free merchandise.  When I shop the sales with coupons I'm usually paying next to nothing.

  3. I'm not poor, but I use coupons as much as I can.  better it goes into my pocket than the store's coffers.  every little bit helps.

  4. Regular coupons are for anyone who cares to use them.
