Are dreams based on real situations?

okay, i just read that dreams are based on real situations or they kind of like channel what has happened throughout the day. how could that be if you dream that you are making out with a guy, but he's like not your bf?

i thought that dreams were kind of like fantasies or stuff that you want to happen? anyone agree or disagree?

dreams are your minds way of organizing unattended/confusing thoughts.  Sometimes these are fantasies you dont address or else confusion about someones role in your life.

Our day to day activities, our day to day thoughts, a movie we watch, things we see has a way of manifesting in our dreams. Our fears and our hopes, wishful thinking all play a part in what we dream. Nothing fact based, no premonitions for the future. We can also dream on past occurrences. I remember dreaming that I could fly, wishful thinking. I dreamed once that I could transform myself into a supercat that could fly and had wings and everything and it was a society of others who could transform into other thinks too, wishful thinking or fear, I haven't determined that yet. That is what dreams are.

sometimes they are fantasy some are fear

most are just random junk.

last nigh i remember two dreams.

one i was eating cookies with kermit the frog.

and one was a not so kid freindly dream feturing a very naked Paris Hilton

are any of these reality no.
