Are drinks Free at the MGM Grand Detroit Casino if you play? Top shelf drinks too?

Question

If I'm playing roulette, poker, or whatever at a Detroit casino, do I get free drinks? If so, Yes, I know to tip the waitress.

Also, can I get top shelf ingredients like Patron, Grey Goose, etc. for Free too?

I'm not sure why this is an issue to you.  If you are playing, you are on average going to be losing more than the drinks are worth anyway.  Except maybe if you are playing poker, and are good.

And the more 'top shelf' drinks you drink, the worse you are going to play, especially at poker.  So any saving you might have made in 4-5 drinks will easily be lost in less than half an hour playing while under the influence.

No drinks are NOT free at the MGM Detroit Casino.

Michigan Law prohibits them from giving away drinks like they do in Vegas, so none of the Detroit Casinos have free drinks. Nor can they comp you for drinks.

You picked the best one, MGM is top rated in Detroit, and avoid Greektown, they are in bankruptcy.

Drinks are also not free at Ceasars Windsor across the river in Canada.

They do have top shelf drinks and they are not cheap!

I am not sure if it still is that way.  I know back in the day I had a friend who used to take his check (back when it was paper) to the cashiers cage, cash it for chips, and walk around the casino for a couple hours playing at most $20.  Within 2 months he was getting comped drinks, rooms, buffets, etc.  After those 2-3 hours he would cash out (break even more or less), and leave.

So I would say this is believable.  As far as top shelf, I am not sure.  But again, I know that I had a friend that worked over a casino pretty well.

You have to buy all alcholic beverages, but water, coffee and pop are free.  (You should tip the waitress though.)
