  1. http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/asp...

Try reading both sides. Some find it fun to report the scare side, but take that with a grain of salt. I'm not sure which side is true but since I don't use it I'm not too concerned.

  2. the sugar makes them taste yummy. when you take the sugar away they become yucky.

  3. Yes this is true.

Artificial sweeteners (Aspartame)  used in diet drinks turns into formaldehyde when it breaks down in your body.  There are also other side affects of this sweetener.

  4. Skeptics Guide to the Universe podcast will help you think clearly:) It's an amazing podcast that talks about stuff like this. Try Snopes, too. I don't use it much, but it's a site that goes over all kinds of topics.

  5. I watched this ages ago & it made me think twice.

  6. Diet drinks are supposed to cause brain cancer. There is no concrete evidence thus far.

  7. yes

  8. diet carbonated drinks are still bad for your teeth - although not as bad as if they had sugar.

diet drinks are not as fattening as regular

    However,

Diet drinks are filled with chemicals - some of which are argued to be carcinogenic .

you are swapping one problem for another either way!

  9. diet drinks have aspertame to sweeten them. Aspertame is also used in suger free gum and most other suger free foods. Aspertame is toxic and should have been banned. Below are just a small number of the symptoms that you can encounter:

Panic Attacks (common aspartame toxicity reaction); anxiety; Seizures and Convulsions; Dizziness; Tremors; Migraines and Severe Headaches (Trigger or Cause From Chronic Intake); Memory Loss (common Nutrasweet toxicity effects);Slurring of Speech

Numbness or Tingling of Extremities; Chronic Fatigue; Depression; Insomnia; Irritability; Marked Personality Changes; Phobias; Rapid Heart Beat; Asthmatic Reactions; Chest Pains; Hypertension; Nausea or Vomiting; Diarrhea.

During the Gulf War the USA Marines were given crateloads of diet coke to drink so they wouldn't get ill of the local water. It is a very high possibillity that the Gulf War Syndrome was just the affects caused by the aspertame. Many good nuitrition books advise not to take diet drinks.
