a lot of fast food places aren't putting beef flavoring in their french fry things anymore, but i'm sure a lot still are, so it depends.

ask again in a few years, and they probably will be!

Well, It depends where you get them from. For example McDonald's' french fries are NOt vegetarian, as they have beef flavouring in them (read source).

i kmow a lot of restaurants cook the fries in the same oil as they do meats, mcdonalds are definately not veg since they put beef extract in them (ewww), you are better off making them yourself at least you'll know whats in them

it really depends, like mcdonalds are not, they use beef flavoring. while wendy's are, im pretty sure. just ask the places.

If they are just potatoes, cooked in just vegetable oil (that nothing else is cooked in) french fries are vegan.  You're not going to find that at most drive-thrus, though.  As mentioned, McDonald's fries are not vegan regardless of what they're cooked in.  From what I've heard, Wendy's fries are OK, but you'd have to check that out for yourself (lots of websites have ingredient lists, but you'd have to check with the restuarant themselves to find out if they keep the fries separate from other non-vegan fried foods.)

I'm going to say no to that question. I worked at KFC for about a year and the chips are 10% beef, So I don't really trust any fast food chain foods.

But my oven baked chiped with herbs are a killer :P

well, even though they are cooked in "vegitable oil" most fries "Like theones at mcdonalds) Have Natural beef flavoring in them. Thats not vegitarian and certainly not vegan. I suggest you go to the fast food resurant's offical websit e and look but what the fries are made of. :)
