  1. Yes generaly speaking. A dual voice coil speaker can hadle way more power think of it as 2 speakers built into one, however they share 1 cone so the amount of air is still 1 speaker technicaly. So if your tight for space 1 dual voice coil will be louder than 1 single but 1 dual voice coil is not louder than 2 singles cause they can move more air. And like I said thay require more amp power to run. I would consider a 1.5 amount of speaker so a rough estimate is 2 dual voice coil speakers are like 3 single coil speakers.

  2. If you say at the same impedance, No. In car audio, a single voice coil speaker  has 4 ohm impedance while a dual voice coil has two 4 ohms voice coil.

Volume is not important for a single or dual vc. What is important is the power output. In dual vc, connecting in series will result in an 8 ohms impedance while connecting it in parallel will result in 2 ohms impedance. The 2 ohms impedance will seem louder because your amp will have to deliver more power, approx twice as much for a 4 ohms impedance.

  3. no

they just give you better options on wiring your subs for example if you have an amp that is 300 watts at 4 ohms and 600 at 2 ohms a dual 4 ohm sub will get more power out the amp than an single 4 ohms sub because you can wire the dual 4 ohm sub down to 2 ohms you cannot do that on a single 4 ohms sub

  4. dual and quad coils are made to offer more wiring options.

the power has nothing to do with it.

  5. Dual voicecoil speakers will not make the speaker play louder. It will maybe be able to handle more watts of power (doesn't mean be louder), but the prime reason is, that you can wire the coils to lower impedance load for your amplyfier.
