Are ebay stores reliable for larger purchases?

Question

I want to buy a pretty expensive camera new from one of these stores. Their feedback rating is good, but this is a big chunk of money for me to spend. Thanks!

I wouldn't recommend it since ebay is kind of like gambling.

If the member has received recent feedback for similar items, that is a great indicator.  Make sure to use PayPal they provide up to $2000 Buyer protection that you can utilize to recoup any money lost if you were not to receive merchandise.  Best thing to do is ask the seller questions, if they provide good customer service that is another great indicator.  Depending on the amount you are spending phone may be better then email.  eBay strives to make their site safe.. I've bought many high priced items, including a car and have not had problems.  Good luck!
