Question:

Are eggs good for dogs?

I have a medium sized half Whippet/Chocho Lab and she goes absolutely nuts when I make eggs.

I have fed her a few here and there and only once did she get a little "farty".

I knew a guy who used to feed his husky hard boiled eggs quite often for his coat.

Any thoughts?

  1. Yes, eggs are a good source of protein and keep the coat shiny and soft.

  2. they are good for them but i don't know how well it smooths the coat

  3. Eggs are an excellent protein source. You can give them boiled with their shells for extra calcium and crunchiness.

  4. yeah eggs are good for dogs it makes there coats shiny

  5. dude you shouldnt be feeding your dog that i really dont even like eggs so dont torture your dog

  6. they don't usually upset their stomach, and they make good treats :)

my dog loves em raw, we give em to her when we run out of dog food

  7. I crack a raw one over my Dalmatians dry food.  He loves it and his coat has never been more shiny.

As far as the gas goes, that's just his/her system getting used to the new food item.  Once they have had it for a while the gas will go down.  I have had to change my Dals food due to manufacturers shortages and believe me, he gets ripe for a week or so.  It'll pass.

  8. when we first got our dog she didn't like the dog food we gave her so we mixed in raw egg so she would eat it. It never made her sick.

  9. Eggs are okay, but I would only give your dog one a week.  And maybe just the whites, not the yolks.
