Electric cars are considered to be an eco-friendly alternative to gas-fueled cars as they are believed not to produce exhaust gases. But scientists have recently confirmed that electric cars may not be as environmentally friendly as they are believed to be. Swiss Researchers recently made a detailed life cycle of the type of lithium-ion batteries most commonly used in electric vehicles. The investigation revealed that the size of the environmental footprint relies on which sources of energy are utilized to source the vehicles. Scientists are of the view that the biggest ecological impact is caused by the continuous recharging of the battery which is the fuel for the car.
