  1. Buy them in Hong Kong or Taipei online or thru ebay. Look for Hong Kong or Taipei electronic retail stores. They are way cheaper but don't get dudded on the postage, so check out the rates first so you know if they are pocketing the difference.

  2. before you buy in Australia make sure the video games will play in Canada,Australia has different zones than Canada, and the chargers for ipod etc run on different power voltage

  3. Actually, things are more expensive here.

I import all I can, PS3, DVD's, Blu-Rays, CD's (sometimes, although CD's are pretty cheap here too, not much difference between US/CA and AU after you factor shipping in), video games are very expensive here (I import that too).

    Currently at 1AUD = 0.93USD, it's pretty cheap.

Unless it's duty free then I don't know, our tax is around 10% but it might be more (tax on tax) so if that's cheaper than buying from Canada then go for it.

And before anyone says that I don't support the local economy, ask yourself, why bother getting something for say like 100 dollars in Australia when you can get it for almost half the price (including shipping?)

  4. em...

it COULD be cheaper but u gotta tell

me how much somthing is in canada.

also how much ur money it worth over here

    =)

    BUT ill tell u.

a new wii game is around $70

a ds game is aroung $40-55

and a ipod could be from $200-300

    Hope it helps

    AND ENJOY MELBOURNE!!!

keep in mind it will be fairly cold down here since its the middle of autum

  5. It really depends, on some things that have prices set by larger companies tightly controlling regional markets maybe (the original XBox at one stage was cheaper here than elsewhere), but for general electronic gear remember Australia has 22 million odd people, North America has about 300 million. The bigger market usually has cheaper stuff.

  6. If you ask me, everything around the world is at a similar price. It's just the scaling of currencies in each country.

If something is worth $200AUD, it'd be around the same elsewhere but in their own version of $200AUD.

  7. hmmm...yeah,maby,we have everything high teck plus a beutifull amazing country, what more could you want?

  8. lots of Asian imports in Australia, it is possible they are fractionally cheaper here
