  1. not scared exactly but they clearly try to avoid them

  2. i saw this on mythbusters...but the problem i have with their "experiment" is they used a white mouse...pretty much white mice don't exist (for long) in the wild. and i'm more likely to believe the elephant was thinking "WTF was that?!" as opposed to "EEK! a mouse!"

  3. yes they showed it on the discovery channel a while back

  4. Dumbo's best friend was a mouse.

  5. I heard on the animal planet that it is true

  6. It was my understanding wild elephants are a little uneasy but not in an absolute panic. Domestic elephants, used as steeds or in zoos, aren't uneasy in the slightest by a mouse.

  7. Yes!  Its true!  I recently saw an epside of Discovery Channel's Mythbusters where the tested this exact myth.

They placed a small object over a mouse and waited for an elephant to come near.  Then they pulled off the object with a string revealing a mouse.  The elephant instantly turned and went around the mouse.  Which means there wasn't a huge stampede like you see on cartoons, but it still means the elephant was afraid of it and avoided it as much as possible.
