  1. Not particularly dangerous, much the same symptoms of a bee sting.  If you are stung multiple times or course of time you may develop and allergic reaction that can be very dangerous called anaphylatic shock.  Emperor scorpions are large, but in the scorpion world are far from the most dangerous.  The yellow tail or Death Stalker scorpion in much smaller and MUCH more dangerous.  The most simple way to determine the general toxicity of scorpion venom is by the size of the pincers.  Emperor=strong large claws--weak venom

Death Stalker=tiny weak looking claws--BIG TIME dangerous venom.

This being said you can buy all of these species, but until you are much more experienced and trained, stay away from dangerous species such as death stalker.  Emperor's are good beginner and advanced species.  Good luck.

  2. The Emperor Scorpion is a large, impressive, and hardy species. With a docile and calm nature, they rarely sting and are recommended for beginners.

  3. and even if they sting you it's not even close to lethal.. unless you're one of the extreme few who are allergic..

if you do get stung... run the site of the sting under HOT water for 20 minutes.. the pain should subside soon..

they actually make good, interesting, if not terribly active pets..
