Question:

Are energy drinks a fad?

I started drinking them when I was 16, and there were only like 3 kinds, monster, red bull, and amp, and they would take up one shelf at the gas station. Now at gas stations they take up an entire fridge, or sometimes two! Are they here to stay, or are people gonna become immune to them and eventually buy something else?

  1. Well I don't think they are I have been drinking Monster Energy for a while now I don't drink it for energy I drink it for its delicious taste I collect the cans in my room I don't know why they cans are cool but I just simply love Monster. I might be immune I don't get any energy from them.

  2. Some of them have some health benefits, but some also contain stuff that isn't very good for you either.

    And they are expensive too.

I suggest sticking to water and real fruit juices.

  3. they've never worked...just bomb at taking cotton mouth away.

  4. I used to be and occassionally still am a big energy drink drinker. However, have found that lately that they do nothing for me and are a waste of money. Red Bull doesn't give me wings and V doesn't do anything. Mother and Rockstar can give me a burst of energy but that is short lived. Oh and also Vodka with Red Bull or those new drinks that combine some type of spirit with an energy drink, they give a buzz but then you fall flat on your face.

  5. Energy drinks don't even give you "energy." The definition of Food Energy is the calories, not a feeling. They make you feel more "awake" for a short period of time. This is bad because lets say you are dead tired and you drink an energy drink. You feel more awake and go to the gym.

Your body is still dead tired and now that you are working out at the gym while your muscles are fatigued, your chance of injury goes up.

This is why they say that energy drinks provide "false energy." If you need energy, eat well and get good sleep. Overloading your body with sugar, stimulants, and high doses of random vitamins aint good for it.

  6. is energy a fad?

  7. Mostly, the conventional ones are, but when you add fizz the calcium and magnesium get leached from your brain, the additivies and preservatives tend to have food intollerances and allergies in most folks these days, but also, sugar has 147 ill health effects when consumed in the body excessively.

As a part of a balanced diet folks can experience serious heart disease say from over four conventional garana drinks at service stations to stay awake?

Its much better to have a large amount of apple juice or even a washed fresh apple, the fact remains if you take them to stay awake or alert you may be nutrient depleted. Most folks are not on a quality multi vitamin as stated by the AMA in 2005 but the Australian senate paper #4 of 2004 was more specific, soil is deficient by 60% meaning soils only contain 40% of the nutrients and trace elements before farming with fertilizers pesticides herbicides and then additives preservatives get added, why last week on TV a current affairs show exposed two of our largest supermarket chains taking three weeks to get vegetables and fruit onto their shelves?

There is hope, basically you can buy a 100% pure garana from herbalife held together with vegetable gum and all their products are food, not any medicines and can give 75 Vitamins and minerals in just their first three product range to boost such defficiencies heres there web:

    http://herbalife.com

They are a four billion dollar company listed on the NYSE 28 years old and were the first to market nutrition at a cellular level from food ingredients, poached the entire NASA space food team and operate out of UCLA near Hollywood California, they are in 66 Countries and are approved of by all these governements.

  8. yes

  9. They create "false energy". Yes people will eventually become addicted to them and thier immune system will "depend" on them for "energy". Energy drinks can give you cancer, diabetes, low energy , dehydration, etc. They are just something to be avoided. If you want an energy boost, drink tea or pop a B vitamin

  10. If you would've asked me if Energy Drinks were a fad about 2 years ago, I would've said yes. However, after many years of drinking them, and after realizing that caffiene is an addictive substance, I'd have to say they'll be the things to replace cigarettes within the next 5-10 years. Cigarette prices are sky-rocketing and Energy Drinks are cheaper. Long story short, they've survived the test. They're going to be here to stay.

  11. When almost every 16 year old i having heart attacks which will be soon yeah

  12. i think so

  13. Energy drinks contain legal drug chemicals.  They'll go away as soon as alcohol, cigarettes, and caffeine go away.  Maybe later, since the way life is going, everyone needs to do more.
