  1. yes they can be bad for you. If you drink to many , there is a lot of caffeine and speeds the heart. If you drink ones with electrolytes and are not exercising or physical labor then you are going to throw the electrolytes in your body off.

    they give you quick energy, and a bad crash afterwards

  5. because they are loaded w/ sugar and empty calories.  it's not that they're terribly bad for you although I wouldn't recommend them as a steady diet, but that they take the place of more nutritious beverages you could be drinking that have better nutritional value.  also, btw, they're a ripoff. Gatorade, for instance, is composed of water, sucrose and salt and artificial color and flavor, for a grand total of about (company cost) .10cents per bottle, but they charge you about a 2000 percent markup.  you do the math.
