Are energy drinks really that bad?

I drink a lot of energy drinks and i dont think they are that bad but my friends think i should stop drinking them so much .

  2. guarana and caffeine and sugar are really bad for your body and my high school you are not allowed to drink them cuz at one of the skool around here a kid died cuz he drink 4 and his heart just stoped

  3. They have a LOT of sugar in them. As in, 12 teaspoons and up. That's tons of sugar. And, although sugar is good, that much of it is bad.

    Water is best for you!

    If it's like everyday then that's pretty bad.

    If its 2 times a day then its extremely bad.

  6. If used as intended and in moderation they are not bad for you. People think they are because many people drink too many, like it sounds like you may be doing. Also they hear it has high amounts of sugar and caffeine and assume it is bad.

    Yes most regular energy drinks have a bunch of sugar. 26g - 34g per serving (8 ounces). But as long as you burn off more calories in a day then you consume that is not a problem. If you don't then they will contribute to weight gain and possibly diabeties and heart problems later.

    Yes most regular energy drinks have a lot of caffeine in them. 80mg - 84mg per serving. That is more than tea and soda but it is still less than coffee which starts at 85mg. How many people are telling you about the caffeine in energy drinks but drink coffee? Well now you can tell them that they don't know what they are talking about. Just don't consume more than 300mg of caffeine in a day and you should be fine. Also drink extra water with energy drinks. It offsets the dehydrating effects of caffeine. Plus water is a natural energizer itself.

    Red Bull recommends only 1 to 2 a day. Even the 2nd largest selling, XS Energy, which is the 1st and largest healthy energy drink suggests having only one and recommends against having more then 2 of theirs in a day. So if you use energy drinks as intended and in moderation you won't have problems.

    Also don' t have any for at least 4 hours before going to bed. It will make it hard to sleep.

  8. On top of the excessive amounts of sugar and caffeine, they also have way over your daily limit of most vitamins.

    they did a recent study that showed ONE energy drink can give you a stroke lol

    it makes your blood 6x thicker

    my cousin drank a BFC at the movies and his heart stopped beating for a second and he passed out for 5 minutes

    he's not allowed to drink them anymore


  11. Not all energy drinks contain sugar, and guarana.
