  1. Although there are plenty of groups out there that make false or exaggerated claims about environmental damage, here are the facts:

Dioxin and sulfur compounds that are not normally found in the environment are now all over the world.

Radioactive materials are now found in many places that they don't naturally occur in.

1/2 of the world's land is now paved, built on, or cultivated, resulting in lost habitat and interrupted ranges for the vast majority of species of animals.

Once plentiful species such as Menhaden are now within a few years of extinction.

People continue to rape the environment in the name of corporate greed.

This is easy to see for yourself...go for a long drive around the edges of any city in any developing country.

  2. no - actually no one lives in the environment it's just an illusion -

  3. You make a good point.  All too often people are willing to take the environmentalist word without checking out if there is any validity to their claims.  Here is a good example:

  4. They are just a bunch of crazy people who feel compelled to complain and try to make people change their lives because they are unhappy with their.  If u press the mute button on the t.v. you do not have to hear them and even better... just change the channel or drive ur car and open up a factory or something.  O ya and cut down the rainforest.. i am sure they would not like that too much

  5. well they get to work in a car too soo.....

  6. Some are, some are not.  The best way to tell is whether they are preaching doom and gloom or they are saying that there is a problem that we could work on.  I love the environmentalists who claim that they care about the environment but still use electricity and are on the grid.  They also buy factory made items and live in houses that they keep a constant temperature.  Some of them like Al Gore, live in huge houses and drive huge vehicles and want to tell us what to do.

  7. It's a religion, in every sense of the word.

That's why they all go along with every "the sky is falling" theory that pops out, without the slightest bit of skepticism at all.

They have to, to belong to the group. If they dare question the authorities on any of this, then they're seen as being one of those dreaded, evil conservatives!

    Oh, the horror!

  8. i like the end of earth ones myself.

i have yet to find where they get the info as no scientists have claimed that global warming will lead to the end if the earth.

  9. Basically, you have to take it with a grain of salt.  You can find an 'expert' about any topic on either side, if you look hard enough, so it can be difficult to determine what is more truthful.

I look at it this way:

Everyone should do their part to reduce consumption and make our planet cleaner for one major reason:

Most people wouldn't live in a DIRTY home (sure a lot are very cluttered and disorganized and messy), but generally speaking people wash their bedding, their clothes, their dishes, they sweep the floor and wash the windows and so on.  If you aren't willing to live with filth in your home, why are you willing to live with it in your environment?  The air from outside (as ONE example) gets into our homes and we're CONSTANTLY breathing... so, it seems stupid to me that we're okay breathing in toxins from the air but not okay walking on some dust/dirt on the floor?!  We're willing to spend money and put in time and effort to clean our homes but not our environment?  It doesn't really make sense to me.

Just my opinion of course as I'm not an expert.
