Question:

Are environmentalists happy now that food is expensive?

The environmentalists have made it very difficult to supply needed energy, particularly petroleum and nuclear power.

By law, we Americans divert grain to fuel, making fuel more expensive and food more expensive. The people that suffer the most are, of course, low income earners. Is that what you environmentalists want? To starve humanity, especially people of color? If so, then you are truly evil people and you ought to be ashamed of yourselves.

  1. it all depends on the people

chances are this is how it works

    rich activists are happy

and the poor are vice versa

    kinda obvious

  2. I think most environmentalists, including myself, are totally opposed to corn based ethanol.  All the extra fertilizers it takes to grow the corn reek havoc on the land and is not worth it.  Instead of blaming "environmentalists" for corn ethanol, you can thank the farming lobby for that one!  They are the ones who are pushing this sham of a fuel on the American public knowing full well that all the extra demand for corn will drive up the price and make a few large agribusinesses rich, while it squeezes out the smaller farmers.

Also another reason that food is getting more expensive is from the growing demand from places like China and India.  These countries have huge populations, more and more of which are lifting themselves OUT of poverty and choosing to eat better foods instead of mainly rice.

Next time instead of blaming "environmentalists" for all of the worlds problems, why don't you first get the facts straight!

  3. it's not fair to blame all environmentalists for that. and now they're racists too? thats just silly.

I personally never voted for ethanol or biodiesel. I wanted solar electric, wind, and hydrogen.

But they way this works is whatever the next fuel is, it'll be something thats just as polluting and can ONLY be bought at a pump.

instead of blaming the environmentalists for halting the drilling of oil, it might also do to share some of that blame to the greedy politicians who halt the advancement of other alternatives and refuse to raise standards or allow the above mentioned

  4. Actually, true environmentalist really dislike the idea of bio-diesel and ethanol.  To make bio-diesel the farmers spray their fields with pesticides, they also use tractors and this uses diesel, so the creation of bio-diesel is counter productive, plus if bio-diesel/ethanol is going to be made the environmentalist actually want the bio-diesel made from crops after the corn etc. has been harvested.  It can be made from the stalks and does not need to be made from the actual food. True environmentalist want people to walk, ride a bike if they are able use the bus and if they have to drive, drive electric cars.

Nuclear power costs a lot more to make than to put up wind turbines.Wind turbines is also safer, do you want the waste from the nuclear power plant in your area, if the waste was put in your area you would have a hard time to sell your house, for that matter if the plant was in your area it would bring down the value of your property.  I think your comments are extremely racist, basically you are suggesting that people of races that are not white are poor.  That is a horrible thing to say, to assume the poor are not white.  Not everyone of col or is poor,  and not everyone who is white is rich.

  5. Oh, yeah - the useless war in an oil producing country that caused widespread instability has NOTHING to do with the price of food....riiiiiight.

  6. And who gave us this law?  Bush and the conservative mid-west farm lobby.  You should be ashamed of yourself for lying.

  7. I think it's terrible actually.

I also dislike corn ethanol, even though it is not what is impacting global food prices.

I also think it is sad that people have bought into the scam that food magically appears in the grocery store and that buying it from someone else is the only way to provide 100% of your daily sustinance.

  8. It seems that way. The real question is where did Al Gore display his Nobel Peace Prize.

There are some environmentalists who don't seem to acknowledge that some theories on saving the Earth are hokey rubbish. The pipeline that was going to kill off the wild life in Alaska actually helped them multiply. Yet we still can't drill our own oil. People in Alaska want the jobs and the work yet it can't happen. Nuclear energy is both clean and efficient but due to laws on shipping nuclear waste most facilities have to store used rods on premises taking up space which after a certain amount of time could cause a plant to shut down just because they run out of space. Environmentalists have ask America too much.
