Are eye drops the only thing that cure red, itchy eyes?

Also, I do drink a lot of liquids so I doubt its dehydration, but my eyes are constantly red and itchy and burn, it has gotten to the point where I can't even wear my contacts :(

Are you sure you have not got an allergy to hay, rape seed, pollen etc., as the symptoms you describe are all connected to a possible allergy.  Have you tried anti-hystamine tablets from the chemist,  alternatively have you consulted your contact lens advisor to see if you have an eye problem with the contact lenses you have been prescribed but unable to wear at present.

Eye sight is very precious so do seek advice !
