I've taken 4 pregnancy tests and only 1 came up Positive. I'm making an apt with my doctor as soon as possible, but to ease my mind I was just wondering if theres more of a chance that I am pregnant since I had at least one positive? If I am pregnant, i'm not very far along also. Thank you :]

  1. False positives can happen, although not very likely.  They are testing for a hormone in your system that spikes when pregnancy occurs.  So it is unlikely to have a false positive.  Did you wait a week after your missed period to test?  If you don't wait that long that can mess up tests as well.

  2. Yes, they really are rare.  You either have the hormone, or you don't.  If it is really early, then there won't be a lot of the hormone and it may not show up yet.  This is why they tell you to use first morning urine is because the concentration in the urine is higher.

Chances are, you are pregnant, even though only 1/4 said you were.

  3. It would be very rare for a false positive. Your body would have to be producing a pregnancy hormone, when you're not pregnant. Best to just go to the doctor.
