No, infact some of them own so much land which they can sell and make a fortune with.

Not all farmers are rich, and their income is far exceeded by the middle men between the producer and the consumer; they work a 7-day week with long hours, and they have no control over market ups and downs (or sudden strikes affecting delivery of their produce, as recently witnessed in France and Spain).  

The general workforce has a 7 or 8 hour day, their wages and success of the business are the responsibility of their employer, and they have trade unions constantly demanding more on their behalf.

Is it any wonder that so many farmers work part-time, in order to be sure of a constant, dependable wage packet?

I was a Young Farmer for 11yrs and I will honestly say I have never ever met a poor farmer and I have met a h**l of a lot of farmers x*x

farmers are important to the economy, farmers provide food  with out them...what workforce wuld there be?, no farmers arent that poor

i dont think so! but things change often with farmers its just down to luck the weather and stuff

Of course!  They have to live in the country and live on food that's never seen cling film.

They are substantially overdue a fashion make-over and have absolutely no idea who Simon Cowell is!

Would you like to have to live like that...???

They like to appear poor, barely spend it, penny pinch then stash their money away.
