By Bella Karolayi's logic, the current US women's gymnastics olympic team would get their asses kicked by the current US junior girl gymnastics team. So practically speaking, if the US were allowed to have under age gymnasts in their team, Shawn, Luikin, Alicia and the rest of the team would've been replaced by some 11-12 years old gymnasts. And this junior team would've surely kicked China's ***, am I right?

First of all, the very reason underage gymnasts are not allowed to compete is because it puts too much pressure on them! (contrary to the excuse that they feel no pressure)

There is no competitive advantage using under aged gymnasts. If the US sent underaged gymnasts to compete, I bet they'd even fail to qualify at all.

The point is that we should be concerned about the under aged gymnasts emotional status for having to compete at a young age. By saying underage gymnasts has an advantage is totally bullshit.

  1. exactly - what more is there for me to say except i fully agree

all they would get by entering underage gymnasts is immaturity , inexperience , and error filled routines

  2. Underage kids have less-developed muscles and bones than older kids. Therefore, they'd be more flexible, smaller, and lighter. They'd be able to do more flips, fly higher, and stay in the air longer.

  3. FINALLY! Someone else agrees with me!

  4. Yes.

  5. yes they are more flexable and fearless

  6. I think this question should be in the youth olympics category.

  7. Like the first person said, as well as the fact that younger children tend to be less afraid of doing it. There is a bit of ignorance that comes with the sport sometimes.
