  1. It depends on your lifestyle...and yes I think that is a good cage. This tells you what to expect from a ferret: http://www.bestfriends.org/theanimals/pd...

This tells you about owning a ferret: http://www.pets.ca/articles/article-ferr...

And this tells you how to keep your ferret healthy www.ferretsanonymous.com/medical/oma/hea...

All of the information and then some should be found here. Hope I helped! =D

  2. It depends what sort of pet you want. Ferrets can be great fun, especially if you train them (which can be quite hard), ferrets are quite intelligent. They are cute and quite small, but can be fast and hard to catch if they escape. Also, they can be aggressive so be careful. Apparently, ferrets are easy to feed. They can be litter trained with hard work.

  3. they are  very friendly my friend had one and he had tubes all over the garage for him, but they smell very much and they have been known to bite if they r 1 just mean, 2 feel rejected, 3do not hav enough living space, and 4 feel scared, and they are very expenzive to keep the cheapest cage is about 150 dollars, and is only fit for one, and they are very social and do better 2gether they may also begin to bite if they do not hav enough social contact.

  4. Ferrets are great pets for the right people. They're fairly high maintenance, so please do your research to ensure you can properly care for one. They need shots. They're kind of like puppies. Ferrets are naturally very rambunctious and energetic. They love to get into anything and everything they can. If you allow your ferret to run freely in your home, you must ferret-proof everything. This includes hiding electrical cords that they could chew on.

If you're interested in getting a ferret, please be sure to do your research. They're not the pet for everyone, so research is an absolute must BEFORE you decide to get one. That cage would be alright for one ferret. I would prefer to get a larger cage, but that's just me. It's fine for one ferret.

  5. you need to give them the biggest cage that you can afford, give them a varied diet aswell. Toys- the best toys that we have found for my ferrrets are tennis balls theyt are pretty cheap and they are good to chew on.

These sites are good to read aswell

  6. they are good pets but  they do bite and there bites are very painful cause they wouldn't let go

  7. Ferrets can be excellent pets for some people and are not good for others. The best thing to do is a lot of research, I'd suggest picking up the book Ferrets For Dummies by Kim Schilling, it's a part of the 'for Dummies' series and offers a great overview of most aspects of ferret ownership.

A few things you might want to keep in mind is that ferrets can be very expensive animals. Since you will be paying for this yourself (good for you by the way!) I'd recommend contacting a few local vets and finding out the cost of visits, shots, surgery (never met a ferret that didn't need surgery in their life) and of course emergency visits as no animal seems to become ill during regular business hours.

Also having just bought a hamster you might want to consider that a hamster is a prey animal for a ferret. Ferrets are from the family Mustelid which are generally rodent eaters, and it would be the ferrets natural instinct to eat the hamster. I'd recommend keeping them in entirely different rooms as the hamster will be able to smell the ferret (and vice versa) and it will cause it great stress to share a territory with a predator. To think of it in human terms imagine someone moves into your house that is a known serial killer, you'd be sleeping with one eye open every night and eventually your health would suffer. Ferrets are not aggressive or violent animals but they are a predator and hunt to survive.

As far as the cage, it's an excellent cage. It's easy to clean, spacious and you've found a good price on it too.

It's great that you are considering adopting from a shelter, if you find a ferret specific shelter near you it is always a good idea to go in and talk with the shelter mom. They can help guide you in this decision and you could interact with the ferrets available to see if there is one that suits your lifestyle.

  8. yes they make very good pets, but they are very high maintenance! you need to research a lot before you go get one. about health, they are very prone to cancers and tumors, so make sure there is a ferret vet where you live.

go to hugawoozel.com it will tell you everything about them and more!

i don't know why people keep saying they bite and are aggressive, because mine never hurt me or bit me at all, except play biting. ferrets are certainly not aggressive but they are rough-housers :)
