  1. Some states don't allow ferrets as pets.Check you state first. They cost about $120.00.Some stores give you a deal like $99.00.But it's still too much.Go to a animal swap meet or adopt one.For the supplies it's an extra $50.00 or even more.Think what if you want to get rid of it most people wouldn't buy it because i don't like ferrets their faces scare me!

  2. I wouldn't get one...

They bite A LOT!!! they also really smell...like really really REALLY SMELL!!They probably aren't that expensive... but you also have to get a really big cage for them that has a jungle gym.

  3. Here is some other info you might find important:

Treats: Ferrets treats that you buy in stores, any cooked (some might argue raw but I don't!) pieces of meat (boiled chicken is great!) ferretvite or ferretone (it's a gel in a tube, made for ferrets, that they LOVE...makes trimming nails a lot easier!) or baby food (check the ingredients, it cannot contain any veggies, just meat!). That's all I can think of - just make sure not to feed them anything with sugar...no raisins or cheerios!!

Litter: I would not recommend cat litter because it is not good for the respiratory tract. You should use recycled news paper pellets (called Yesterday's News here in Canada) It is also less messy than cat litter because the pieces are bigger and they can't throw it all over the room!

Food: Please use a high quality ferret food and not cat food. Do some research on the ingredients in the food you are using and remember that ferrets are CARNIVORES!!

Toys: Ferrets play with pretty much everything! You can get cat toys (make sure they don't have any small pieces that they can bite off and swallow, or feathers, and don't get anything that's rubber) mine like small teddy bears (eyes and noses removed!!) and rolled up socks. Ferrets also love tunnels, you should consider buying a dryer vent hose (Approx. 3$) they should love it and it's a great alternative to the tunnels made for ferrets that cost 30$!

Cages: Make sure they have a fairly big cage, with enough room to play in, and preferably a multi-level cage. (They are pricy...a couple hundred at least but they need lots of room!) The cage needs to be cleaned daily to avoid any odors.

Play time: Ferrets love to play!!! They need at least 2-3+ hours of free play time a day. I live in a tiny apartment and I have a whole room dedicated to my ferrets, there is NOTHING they can get into, swallow, chew etc...you need to be VERY careful when letting your ferrets out because they will get into everything!!! If their head fits, the rest of their body will fit too!! Do not let your ferrets lose in your kitchen or near your washer dryer because they can get lost in there and hurt themselves. You can take them for walks - just make sure they get their yearly shots to prevent getting diseases.

Cost: Ferrets are considered exotic animals so they tend to lead to sky high vet bills. I would consider putting a small amount of $ aside monthly for ferret bills, because when they hit, they hit hard!!!

Bathing - it is a myth that bathing your ferrets more often will make them stink less - actually the less you bathe them the better. Mine get a bath approx. every 3 months, and that's it. As long as you keep their little clean, there is not much odor.

  4. yess deyy aree =]

ferrets are really playful..they do not bite(not unless u really pissed dem off i guess)..dey have sharp nails but dont worry dey dont scratch everytime(i dont think dey do)..dey are soft..nice to hug..but dey drop hair...dey get to a point wer dey stink alot..dey are good petss..dey arent harmful or can b harmful easily..=]]

  5. The average ferret costs about $130, the cage costs about $60, along with monthly food, etc.

I do not recommend them. They are hard work, and you have to play with them every day...

Though they DO NOT STINK.... That is only when you don't clean out their cage twice a week...

  6. Yes they are!

    cage

    food

    water

    bedding

    about 100-200

  7. Yes, they're very cute, affectionate, funny, and playful. They cost anywhere between $60-$200 but mostly I've seen them go for around $100-$140. They need a large cage, plenty of food, a litter tray, water-bottle, and something to sleep in. Oh, and toys. Some can be bitters, but if you socialize them enough it'll be fine. Good luck.
