  1. NO . usually not!. Children of that age  like pets they an "hold" and pet and snuggle with Ferrets are busy and active and dont generally sit still to be petted. Also children tend to want to hold them when they are trying to explore which may or may not cause a fall for the ferret. Children seven and above however would be perfectly suited to understand their ferret and his needs. they tend to understand what pet softly means and how to properly handle a smaller animal.I wouldnt be so worried about a ferret biting a child as someone else mentioned,My main concern would be getting a pet a kid that age could enjoy, instead of chasing a hiding behind the couch ferret. There are exceptions to the rule,if your kids are more mature and calmer than the average 5 year old you may be better suited to have a ferret Only you know your kids and what they can handle.

  2. They don't "stink" if they are fixed and descented. They only have a musky smell. If you clean their cage a lot that is kept to a minimum.

I do not advise ferrets as pets for your children, they are a lot of work. If your kids accidently hurt them the ferret could bite out of fear. They are good pets, but not for young kids. They are expensive, need lots of attention, and care.

  3. NO!!! They bite! Trust me, it really hurts! They can bite you down to the bone!!!

    Hope I helped! x

  4. Depends totally on the children and the parents.  While I own a few ferrets I would never leave my daughter with them unsupervised.  She is six years of age.

Your neighbors ferrets stink to high heaven because they likely do not clean up after them properly.  Regardless of this ferrets do have a distinct odor.  Not that it is any different in pungeant-ness compared to dog or cat odor, just that it is 'distinct'.

  5. NO ferrets wont make a good pet as they need to be handled correctly or they will turn nasty and bite, also ferrets are working pets for farms to get rid of wild rabbits from the fields a rabbit will be more suitable or a guinaepig, as long as you clean them regulary they dont smell

  6. they stink and they hard to look after for kids not good for kids of that  age mabe 10 or so

  7. Yea they stink really bad but other than that I don't think that there is any reason that they wouldn't be ok for younger children !!!!!!!!!!!!

  8. Maybe a 7 year old. Just maybe. Depending on her/his maturity level. Ferrets have to be handled properly because they are sensitive animals. For example, my four year old cousin would DEFINITELY pull the poor ferrets tail, so I do not let her look at him. I would say ages 8+ :]
