Are fiberglass lpg cylinders unbreakable?

I am concerned whether using fiberglass in lpg cylinders instead of cast iron will be safe

  1. Yes that is what they say lightweight and transparent composite cylinders.

    The new fiberglass cylinders are are lightweight, easy to handle and safe. They weigh 50 per cent less than the steel cylinders now in use and will not corrode.


  2. What size cyls are you wanting.  In the smaller more portable variaty (100lb and less) you have steel tanks and composite tanks.  They are both safe if used properly.   The composite cyls are lighter and more resistant to denting while the steel cyls are going to last longer.  They both have to be periodically tested.  Hope this helps.
