I've seen this topic on forums before, and the general consensus is yes. Though backup data is how you are located on the Pacific realm, so you'd be called Pacific Islanders. I still consider them Asian.

Well, geographically we are Asian. In terms of our blood, we're not totally Asian. We have a little Spanish mixed in and that's why we might be considered different than other Asians.

Also, I'm in high school and whenever I have to take one of those standardized tests or fill out a survey for the school that asks for your "race", they place "Filipino" separately from "Asian"

omg... ok i know there is straight controversy over this shiiit.. cuz im filipino and i hate when people call me asian... i believe that we are islanders. we dont stay in asia we are in our own island. when you take tests and apply for jobs or what not when they ask for you nationality most of the time they put filipino in there own category or even filipino with another category excluding us from asians

yes, before they started to get all sensitive and started this pacific islander $hit. Filipinos, don't get up in my face, coz I'm Filipino too, and I don't care if I'm called asian or pacific islander. We are in Asia you know, even though we are on an island...eventually people are gonna get fed up and put Filipino as whole other race because of this nonsense...i've already noticed it on state tests

Yes.  The Phillipines is a member of various Asian communities at the national level.  (It's funny that some Filipinos want out of Asia and Australia is struggling to get in!)  One interesting point though, they have more chance of being employed overseas as English teachers than any other Asian nationality.

Probably they are also Pacific Islander.  Many Filipina women are attractive I believe (U don't want to generalize too much though)
