Are filipinos really asian??

Question

they dont look anything like the other asian races, well maybe the hair color but mostly, thats it.

the chinese, the japanese, taiwanese, koreans, i could go on and on.

they look more mexican to me

Yes, they're really Asian. People from India also look different from the Japanese, Koreans, Chinese, etc., but they are still Asian too. Asia is a BIG continent. Not everyone on it looks exactly alike.

Spain did colonize the Philippines. That's why so many of them have Spanish surnames and tagalog language includes many spanish words. Some of the food has spanish names as well.

Geography alone can give you an answer to your question.  The Philippines is located in Southeast Asia north of Indonesia, south of Taiwan. Filipinos are Southeast Asians & look similar to Indonesians & Malaysians though there are a few Filipinos who are mixed with Spanish blood & that's the reason why there are few who look like Mexicans. But the fraction of those types of Filipinos juz range by 3.6% of the entire population. Though many claim having Spanish ancestry by evidence of having hispanic surnames but that is obviously false coz majority of Filipinos acquire those surnames by a decree of Spanish naming system and only very few can actually claim having real Spanish or Latin ancestry.  The rest are all Asians.

Wtf? The middle east is part of Asia, so do they look "Asian" to you? Thailand, and the Vietnamese look similar to the Filipinos, you obviously don't know what you are talking about, they do look Asian to me. You are basing you definition of Asian on the majority of what you see, which is usually Chinese and Japanese influences most of the time. You need to get out more, and know that Asian does not always refer to chinky eyes and jet black hair.

we are diverse but yes we are asian..have you noticed chinese looks similar to each other..as well as koreans and japanese..e.g the girl have bangs. Oops im  mixed blood.

Uh, yeah, they do.  I don't know which Phillipinos you've been looking at, but they're Asian, physically and genetically.  And don't say "they look Mexican."  It's that certain Mexicans look like them, because most Mexicans have a good amount of Native American ancestry, and Native Americans are originally from ASIA.  Ergo, if you are pure or mostly Native American, you resemble Asians to some extent.

Yup!  Generally Filipinos look more like the Indonesians and Malaysians, who of course, are Asians, too.

Filipinos, Malaysians and Indonesians are descendants from India, long time past, there is also a lot of Spanish blood lines, due to the long time occupation of Spain in the Philippines, even Chinese bloodlines are prominent
