  1. I think people tend to think it's okay to disrespect flight attendants, but everyone sees the uniform and the company but they don't see that they are angry towards a person who might not even know what happened with you in the first place.

Being aggressive and/or show no interest in following safety instructions might be very catastrophic in case something happens on board.

Sadly because flight attendants are disrespected daily, often several times a day during an flight, they get right to the point when someone starts being obnoxious.

Even though air travel is the safest way to travel, people tend to forget that we are still in a an aircraft, and that we still have to comply to the safety rules.

  2. No, they've putting up with a lot of cra* for a long time, and finally have some power to enforce rules of conduct and decency.  I know we only hear about the sensationalized cases where one *possibly* went overboard (without us ever really knowing the full story, by the way), but I believe that for every rare case like this, there are 100 good uses of power to make flights safer and more comfortable for the rest of us.

  3. Meaning what?

  4. Seems like it. They sure aren't fashion models anymore.

  5. I  have been on injury leave since early Feb, 07; and looking back to then, I have to say that your theory was starting up.  Simply enforcing carry-on policies was a challenge.  Most people are very compliant, and take a reminder in a positive manner.  But some are rude and obnoxious when reminded nicely about seat backs and under seat carry-on.  They don't realize, or do not want to realize that the policies are there for the protection of everyone on board.  But aside from all of that,  I long for the day that I am once again in the air.
