  1. Absolutely NOT!!

Both cuisines are good, but they are very different.  And, as mentioned, there are tons of varieties that vary according to region.

Mexican food relies heavily on corn and corn flour, flat grain tortillas and pepper.  Lots of varieties of pepper.

In Spain there is a lot of hunting foods in the central part, and seafood on the coasts (this is MASSIVE simplification).  Many foods are stews, or pot dishes, and there are a number of dried bean dishes.  Rabbit, pork, veal, lamb, partridge, and quail, chicken and all varieties of seafood factor in to the equation, and don't forget about the incredible hams, sausages and cheeses!  Check out the local supermarket for some of the cheeses (if you're lucky enough to have one that has a few.)  If you're interested in actually sampling some things, here are a few web stores with Spanish foods and goods.

The last one is for this really expensive, exclusive ham.

  2. Nope! Mexican food, of course, is like burritos, enchiladas, and a lot of pork stuff. But Spanish food is different. I think it uses a lot more chicken and fish. Like Paella.

  3. No, they're two different countries.

  4. omg dats descriminatin no its not its way different mexican food is like buritos and enchiladas

  5. hahahahahaha you're one funny guy. Spanish food is rich spices like Paella and alot of savory foods. Mexican is mostly from the indians there not the conquistadors

  6. NO

  7. totally different, but each country has sooooo many regional cuisines that you have a million choices.

don't think that american mexican food is the same as the food in mexico either. true mexican food from mexico uses many more ingredients and is much more complex than the mexican food here. if you want to experiment with great mexican food, make an authentic posole or mole, lots of ingredients but great food.

spanish food is also complex, lots of seafood, olive oil, garlic, fresh ingredients, complex recipes. also spanish food has lots of outside influences too, eg. arab, northern european, north african, etc.

surf the net and don't be afraid to try different recipes.

  8. No Spanish food has an influence on the food of Mexico, but so does Mayan, Aztec, and Native American food. As a result the food flair and styles differ. I gave you a star because this is a very good question.
