  1. Sure, if it accomplishes one of the following:

    1. Better health care at a lower cost.

    2. The same health care at a lower cost.

    3. Better health care at the same cost.

    Otherwise, No.

  2. against, I already have Health Care, I pay enough already

  3. Against.

First off it would cost me more. Yeah I'm lucky that my job picks up the majority of the cost. Some would pay as much or less in the end, unless they got private insurance as well.

Second is the fact that the Govt has never got anything right before, why would you think it would start now.

Third is you would end up with what you already get with things like Medicare-two systems. The doctors and hospitals that accept the Govt insurance, and the ones that don't. A lot stopped accepting it because they got tired of waiting for the Govt to reimburse them. They also don't want to deal with the Govt in some cases. So you would get the haves(people who can afford and get private insurance) and the have-nots(the rest of us that only get what the Govt. offers).

  4. Ultimately against, but I think there should be a government funded and administered plan available for all citizens, that private companies or corporations could compete against.

The AMA, tired of having its doctors ranked by health insurance companies, recently ranked health insurance companies based on doctors' comments.  Medicare ended up being the highest ranked program with private companies falling behind.

  5. I think it could be helpful as long as we have a choice.  I don't believe it should be mandated, it should utilize private insurance companies so our citizens and companies are not put out of business, people that already have insurance should have the choice on whether to keep their own or go into the universal system.  I think it would give an option to those that don't currently have one.  If they have it available and still choose not to take it, hospitals should not be required to treat them if they can't pay.  Illegal immigrants should not have it available.  Only people here legally that pay taxes.
