  1. no....they use the euro now though i knew for awhile you could use francs or euros...... the franc was worth about 1/7 of a dollar when i last used them in late 2000

  2. As noted the French franc was replaced by the Euro so is no longer in use.  However, the official exchange rate (used for old long-term contracts where prices are specified in francs) between the franc and the Euro is 6.55957 franc/Euro.  Using 1 Euro = 1.47 USD, this makes the franc worth about 22 cents.

There was also a Belgian franc which is pegged at 1 EUR= 40.3399 BEF making it worth about 4 US cents.  It also went away with the introduction of the Euro.

There is also the Swiss Franc (CHF) which is still in use.  1 USD is about 1.10 Swiss Francs.

There are a few other currencies named "franc" but those are the main ones.

  3. Do you mean french francs? If so, there's no such thing. The french have the Euro now.

Right now it is roughly 1.47 dollars to 1 euro.
