Are they easy to take care of? How do you take care of them? Would you consider recomending them to other people? What kind of foods do they eat?

  1. i think frogs are very good pets! i would recomend getting some type of water frogs i had them for a long time. we just fed them on frog food from the pet store we cleanded the tank about once everymonth but we also had a sucker fish who cleaned off the algae. oh well hope this helps!!!

  2. They're okay pets, but all you can do is look at them. Frogs are pretty easy to care for as long as you meet their needs. I'm not sure I would recommend them, but that's only because I don't find them especially interesting. If you really want a frog and can commit to caring for it, go ahead.

  3. Depends on what you like. If you like to have a slimy creater than the frog is right for you! A frog should be easy to take care of but only if you really try and take verry good care of it. If the place your planning to keep it is cramped up than maybe not, it needs room to jump around and feel free.

If you don't mind making sure your frog is alway most, and if you are willing to feed 'em worms  (live) then its right for you.

If you need more answers than go a pet store that carries frogs and get informed before actualy getting one, because not being informed is the WORST thing! Well best of luck!!

  4. I have 2 pet toads... Asian Fire Belly's.  They are very easy to take care of.  I do not have a filter in their tank so I need to clean their tank at least once a month... it depends on the temperature and if the sun is beating on the tank or not.  My guys like it warm, so when it starts to get algae-y I will clean it with the hose, and give them fresh water and stuff.  Other than that they don't require much. No lights, toys etc. though I do have a little "house" for them to get into and a few rocks for them to hop around on.  Half of their tank is gravel and the other half is water.  They eat live crickets... I don't know if all frogs/toads are the same I think so, but they won't eat it unless it is moving so you have to feed them live food.  A dozen crickets are about $1.30 and last them about a week, once again depending on the temp.  They tend to eat a little more when it is warmer months than during the winter.  I recommend them if you want a low maintenance pet.  Mine will play "leap toad" and try and climb the sides of the tank to the top.  But, other than that they don't really do anything other than sit around.  These guys I have now, I've had for 5 years, which I think is a record, my others have never lasted more than 2 years or so, but they are cool.

They are not always slimy - only if I scoop them up out of the water... if they are on the gravel they are not slimy.
