  1. well, gee, let's see....

    games help kids learn to work within a structured set of rules, kind of like real life. they teach cooperation, bargaining skills, and foster the imagination! they teach risk/benefit analysis, decision making, and conflict resolution. and that's just games!

    sports can do all of the above, AND gets our kids off the couch, giving them vital physical activity, hand-eye coordination, muscle tone, and strengthening the skeletal and immune systems.

    so, overall, i would have to say, naw. games are a waste of time :P

  3. Yes, from board games, puzzle games, sports games, to video games, entertainment always put a smile on a kid's face. It is a developing period for them, and being happy, having fun, being kids is what it's all about.

  4. Yes, they are.  They are a source of entertainment but also educational and a great learning experience.  They help kids learn social skills, how to take turns, share, etc., as well as the specific skills associated with the game.
